How to Prevent the Podcast app from Auto-Advancing to the next episode of the same show.
If you use Apple’s stock Podcasts app to keep up with your favourite podcast shows on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 11.2 or later, Apple has got you covered with a handy new continuous playback option.
On iOS 11.2 or later, the Podcasts app defaults to automatically advancing to the next episode from the same show. This feature is very cool if all you want is catch up on your favourite podcast.
But if you would rather listen to specific episodes without having to worry about the app consuming too much data or you prefer to manually advance to the next episode, you should disable this feature. Here is how to do that…
How to Disable continuous Playback in Podcasts app on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch Running iOS 11.2 or later
If you would like to stop the Podcasts app on your iOS device from automatically playing the next episode of a show or a station after the episode you are listening to ends, follow the steps listed below.
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Next, scroll down the Settings page till you see the Podcasts option and then tap on it.
- Toggle off the switch next to Continuous Playback underneath the Podcast Settings heading.
Once you have disabled this feature, the Podcasts app will no longer advance to the next episode from the same show automatically when the episode you are currently listening to ends.
That is all!
